CPI’s Formulation Director Graeme Cruickshank explains about the challenges facing the formulating industries and how CPI is enabling companies to be more efficient and innovative in the development of formulated products. CPI is a UK based technology innovation centre and the process arm of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult. Established to support the UK process manufacturing industry, CPI works with industry and academia to bring together cutting-edge cross sector expertise, technology and infrastructure, to enable the commercialisation of the next generation of formulated products and to develop new techniques and methods of delivering formulated products faster and using less resources. CPI provides access to industry trained experts and open access facilities which enable companies to develop and scale up advanced formulated products. Working with us, clients can significantly increase the speed of innovation as well as significantly reducing the risks and costs associated with product development and optimisation. Through CPI’s National Formulation Centre, a range of collaborative consortia are developing plans to enable more companies to learn faster using open access high throughput rigs, model powder mixing processes and assess the impact of mixing complex liquids to accelerate the translation to market of game-changing products and technologies.
