This piece was premiered by the group Octagon in 2003, made up of top Canadian players including violinists Andrew Dawes, Patricia Shih, violist Rivka Golani, cellist Amanda Forsyth, bassist Joel Quarrington, clarinetist James Campbell, hornist Kenneth MacDonald, bassoonist George Zukerman. The Globe and Mail review of the performance by journalist and broadcaster Ken Winters, said of the work, "This is easily the best work I've heard by this successful and prolific Alberta composer (Malcolm Forsyth). With its rich and original textures, its curious harmonies and its compelling rhythms, the music is alive from beginning to end."
