CPMusicLibrary's video: Tales from Amerindia by Marc Fortier for timpani

@Tales from Amerindia by Marc Fortier for timpani
for timpani soloist and orchestra This very short Tone Poem based on rhythmical patterns observed in the music of aboriginal peoples is the down scaling of a previous and more elaborated symphonic work called Un Ditto Della Luna that received the First Prize at the Milan Competition. Although the timpani set of five plays a major role in this composition, the work cannot be classified as a Concertino. When desired by the performing group, an optional mixed choir part can be used. A Piano Conductor Score is available and may serve as a complementary keyboard part used to add color to the Score. Tales from Amerindia is shaped into three uninterrupted segments : Vivo, Lento and Accelerando al Fine. The middle section is essentially melodic and a tad melancholic, say mysterious, while the rest remains very rhythmic and accentuated. Close to the end, space is left for a Cadenza by the timpanist. Marc Fortier Perusal score available upon request from Counterpoint Music Library Services. library@cpmusiclibrary.ca
