Les travaux de son laboratoire ont permis d’établir les véritables cartes des retombées radioactives. En mars 2011, au moment de la catastrophe de Fukushima, la CRIIRAD est sollicitée par des citoyens japonais qui souhaitent se doter de radiamètres pour mesurer la radioactivité ambiante. CRIIRAD was created in 1986, in reaction to the lies of the French government about the intensity of radioactive fallout on French territory. The work of his laboratory made it possible to establish the real radioactive fallout maps. In March 2011, at the time of the Fukushima disaster, CRIIRAD was approached by Japanese citizens who wished to acquire radiation meters to measure ambient radioactivity. In May 2011, CRIIRAD went to Japan and brought devices to control the radioactivity of food. Les habitants sont confrontés à des choix dramatiques : rester sur un territoire contaminé ou prendre la décision de le quitter. Gamma rays emitted by radioactive substances deposited on surfaces pass through the walls and irradiate residents even when they are inside buildings. The inhabitants are faced with dramatic choices: staying on a contaminated territory or making the decision to leave it. Les populations vont donc être exposées pendant des décennies. En cohérence avec les recommandations internationales prises sous l’impulsion du lobby nucléaire français, les autorités Japonaises ont multiplié par 20 les normes de radioactivité acceptables en cas de retombées radioactives. Pour Naoto Kan, premier ministre du Japon au moment de la catastrophe de Fukushima, il faut tout mettre en œuvre pour sortir du nucléaire. Total decontamination is not possible. Populations will therefore be exposed for decades. In line with international recommendations taken at the instigation of the French nuclear lobby, the Japanese authorities have multiplied by 20 the acceptable radioactivity standards in the event of radioactive fallout.
