CVMR's video: Sleazy McQueen - Bittersweet Freedom Original Mix

Release: 3rd April 2014 Cat No: CVMR004 Format: Digital & Vinyl This April sees the return of Mexican imprint CVMR with its fourth release, this time bringing American artist Sleazy McQueen into the limelight with his 'You Know How' EP, featuring Century and Kasper Bjorke on remix duties. North Carolina born Laurin Fedora, better known as Sleazy McQueen has been delivering high quality, tripped out funk laden house music for quite some time now, as well as maintaining a busy touring schedule which has taken him across the globe from Chicago and New York through to Tokyo and London, Fedora has seen his material released on reputable imprints like Siesta, Chillin Music and Eighth Dimension / Eight Tracks, the latter of which Fedora is now an employee at the labels head office. Title track 'You Know How' kicks off the release, McQueen blends organic rhythms, smooth ethereal pads and stabbing bass hits skillfully alongside stuttering vocal snippets, so intricately programmed and finely selected the resultant record is incredibly unique and protruding. Following is 'Bittersweet Freedom', yet another stunning cut from McQueen, this time he ups the energy levels and storms straight in with an infectious groove from the get go, employing jangling percussive lines, hypnotic resonant synths and rumbling sub bass to create a powerful piece oozing with intensity and vehemence. On the flip side of the release we have two reworks of title cut 'You Know How', the first of which comes from Century, stripping back the vibe to a dropped tempo, emotive workout fuelled be heavily reverberated piano chords, echoing vocal lines and a general chuggy, low-slung vibe throughout. While Compost Black's main man Kasper Bjorke finishes things off with his acid tinged interpretation, driven by a gritty saw-wave bass hook, rolling snare hits, wanderings arps and crunchy drums, a simply stunning piece of music as expected from the undeniably talented Copenhagen born producer.
