Frijid Pink's distorted guitar-driven, hard-rock rendition of "House of the Rising Sun," reached the Top Ten on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1970. The one-hit-wonder gold record sold over one million copies. The traditional folk song about New Orleans was popularized by Eric Burdon and The Animals' version in 1964.
