@Dyson V11 vs. V15: A Few Reasons Why Wood Floor Owners Need the V15
The V15 includes roller for hard floors, while the V11 for those with carpet. But I was wrong. It’s awesome. What's the "laser feature"? The Dyson V15 comes with two cleaner heads, one of which is the new Laser Slim Fluffy roller that's designed for hard floors. A green laser shoots out from the front of the roller and shines on hard floors to make dust and dirt more apparent, which helps lead you to the path that needs cleaning. In addition, the Fluffy Roller includes carbon fiber filaments that help counteract static electricity (the main reason why fine dust can be tough to vacuum on hardwood). The downside? It exposes my terrible vacuuming skills and puts my messy house on display. The bottom line? The addition of a second cleaner head makes the V15 a must-have for wood floor owners. Three minor V15 improvements compared to the V11: 1. The V15 has an extra minute of runtime and 20% more suction in max power mode. It goes deeper on carpets, but the improvement wasn’t as noticeable as you’d expect in the real world. It’s still an incredible amount of suction for a cordless vacuum, but the extra suction power isn't enough of a reason to upgrade. 2. The battery is removable. Previously, Dyson batteries were screwed in. Now, just press the V15’s red button and it slides out. A spare battery probably won’t be useful because 43 minutes of runtime should be enough, but because Lithium-Ion batteries have a limited life, you now have the option to upgrade the battery once runtime dwindles. 3. The V15 screen shows a dynamic runtime timer (just like the V11), but it displays a dust particle count as you vacuum. It's similar to the Dyson air purifiers. But in my month of owning the V15, I looked at the screen once and it was only for reviewing purposes.
