Cameron Chapman's video: Salmon fishing Scotland Dochfour 7lb salmon caught on the fly

@🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Salmon fishing Scotland | Dochfour | 7lb salmon caught on the fly
Returning visiting anglers Phil, Illtyg and Craig are always in amongst the fish when they travel north. The casting is outstanding and the flies are first class, just like the craic. Add to that equation two little "Gnasher" dogs who demonstrate limitless energy in pursuit of their mischievous acts. An often used phrase in the fishing world is, "I'd rather be lucky than good", so you can image how potent an angler Phil is, for not only is he a good angler, you will often hear Illtyg referring to Phil as a 'lucky b......' To put Illtyg's description into a proper perspective, I can share with you the fact that back in September, as Phil played this fish to the net, the knot he had tied the fly on with was slowly unravelling. Once in the net, Phil removed the barbless single hook from the salmon's mouth and placed the hook under the leg of the first eye on his rod, before reeling in the loose line. As Phil slowly and gently wound the loose line in, the end of the nylon fell away from the tube fly and the hook that remained in place around the leg of the rode eye! The end of the nylon displayed the characteristic pigtail shape that is left behind when a knot has come undone! Lucky b...... indeed. Happy days :)
