The 2018 CAM Collection Chard comes to us from a blue chip Russian River Valley estate, made with all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a top name in wine country with generations of history and a reputation for quality. At this price, it might be the best consistently available Chardonnay value on the market. Pouring that perfect California gold in the glass, you're greeted with a rich nose of apples, pears, vanilla, and lemon – immediately recognizable as archetypal Chard from this storied region. Good weight on the palate accentuates the lemon aspect, with toasty oak over perfectly balanced acidity. The finish is clean yet long, with vanilla, fresh butter, and one final wave of oak influence. Enjoy this with food, but let it really shine on its own!
