Campaign Against Antisemitism's video: Who is Eva Kotchever shorts

@Who is Eva Kotchever? #shorts
Today, we remember Eva Kotchever, the Polish émigré who moved to America and founded Eve’s Hangout in 1925, a lesbian bar in New York City, and one of the first in the entire country. However, she was arrested and convicted of obscenity after the undercover police raided her bar and discovered her book, Lesbian Love, which was a collection of short stories on the lives of local lesbians. Eva was jailed, and deported back to Poland. She moved to Paris but, she was detained, and eventually deported to Auschwitz concentration camp where she was murdered with her partner. While records differ, many state that she was deported to Auschwitz on 17th December 1943 and died two days later on 19th December. Audio taken from S1 E21 of Podcast Against Antisemitism.
