Dr. Philip Greenberg is the head of immunology at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and a professor of medicine and immunology at the University of Washington. He is also a member of the CRI Scientific Advisory Council and has earned multiple grants for his laboratory research in immunotherapy. Dr. Greenberg is an internationally recognized expert in cancer immunotherapy, a form of treatment that aims to harness the power of immune cells to eliminate cancer. His early discoveries showed how to target diseases with T cells and helped drive this now-burgeoning field. For these contributions, he was awarded the 2011 William B. Coley Award for Distinguished Research in Tumor Immunology.
