Canopy Cat Rescue's video: Cutest kitten gets head stuck in a fence

@Cutest kitten gets head stuck in a fence
We rescue cats stuck in trees, but sometimes we get called for cats stuck on roofs, power poles, or even in HVAC systems. For some of these calls we refer the caller to someone who's more equipped to help. Today a call came in for a kitten stuck in a fence. After listening to the caller explain the situation, it was clear that CCR likely could help. The caller found the kitten at her apartment complex this morning with it's head stuck through one of the small holes in a chain-link fence. She tried her best to free the cat but wasn't able to. She then called animal control, 911, and the fire dept, but they all told her to try calling local rescues. They also told her to try CCR, because, well we always answer the phone and .... sometimes fences are made from trees, right. :) We're glad she called and are happy to have helped this cute kitty. After hearing what was going on, I asked how the cat was doing. She said the kitty was patiently sitting as they tried to free it. It's hard to know what to expect with these types of situations, but once on scene, it was exactly as the caller described. After a couple of cuts to the fence, the cat was free and fortunately the owner showed up just in time get his kitty back. The second rescue was Rosie, from Lacey. She'd been stuck for two days in a fir and although she was clearly ready to get down, it had to be on her terms. She let me get close enough for love and acted like she was ready for the rescue, but then moved out on a branch just out of reach. She finally came back over and I took the opportunity to get her. She was mad about going in net and howled the whole way down.
