The third offering for the Indian car market from Kia is the Kia Sonet- the 6th sub-compact SUV of its segment. Hyundai is the sister brand of Kia offers the Hyundai Venue in its segment. Both of these cars share a lot of features and specifications but also have some differences. Here we have made a comparison of both; Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue to point out the similarities and differences of the same. DESIGN and APPEARANCE The Kia Sonet gets a Tiger Nose grille, stylish alloy wheels and sharp headlamps and is completely different in style when compared to Hyundai Venue. The appearance of the Sonet is slightly round along with protruding wheel arches and showcases a fusion theme. Speaking of the Venue, it gets sharper creases, an upright stance along with chunky bumpers and lives on the conventional SUV style. The design language of the Hyundai Venue shows off the huge cascading grille, split headlamp design and dual-tone alloy wheels. ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS Both the vehicles Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue will offer the same engine transmission from the Venue. Both the cars will offer 3 (Three) engine options: ► A 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox generating a power of 83 PS against 113 Nm of torque; ► A 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine which will produce a power of 115 PS against 172 Nm of peak torque and is paired either to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DCT or a 6-speed iMT; and ► A 1.5-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard and will generate a power of 100 PS against 230 Nm of torque and is inspired by Kia Seltos. FEATURES Both the Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue share the same platform as a result of which both will almost have the same features. The dimensions of the same might differ but in terms of space and comfort they are the same. The Hyundai Venue offers features like: ► Electric Sunroof ► Rear AC Vents ► Blue Link Technology ► Cruise Control ► Touch-screen infotainment system with Android Auto, Car Play and Mirror Link ► Air Purifier ► Wireless Charging; and ► LED Headlamps along with other standard features. In addition to the above features of Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet will get a few additional features like: ► Bose Sound System ► 25-inch touch-screen Infotainment system; and ► UVO Connect Technology. ► On the safety front, both the cars will be equipped with features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, speed alert system, rear parking sensors, rearview camera and front passenger seat belt reminder along with other standard safety features. PRICING The Hyundai Venue will be offered at an ex-showroom price of INR 6.55 lakh onwards going up to INR 10.89 lakh (Ex-showroom).
