They come from all over for the special homemade root beer crafted at the ROOT BEER STAND located in the Cincinnati, Ohio suburb of Sharonville! Today, I bring you along as we sample a few of their signature creations, the TIMMY Dog, CHATTANOOGA Burger and of course, the ROOT BEER. They craft the root beer onsite using their own on site 280 foot well! The Root Beer Stand, originally opened as an A & W Root Beer Stand in 1957. Ranked number 12 among the "Top 100 Places in Cincinnati." By Cincinnati Magazine, the ‘Stand’ was opened by Mick and Nancy Rideour -- along with Nancy's parents, Jim and Catherine Clark. The seasonal nature of the restaurant suited Mick, who was a school teacher. Catherine Clark created the original recipe for the Root Beer Stand's chili - still used today! They also make the root beer using the original, secret recipe using the same equipment which has been used since 1957. Many things remain unchanged at the Root Beer stand, but service by car hops ended in 1972. Still run mostly be teen family members and friends, this place is a nod to Summer nostalgia not to be missed!
