Excellent performance by Jeremy Brett as Maxime De Winter in the adaptation of Daphne Du Maurier's work for the television. A shy young lady company is in Monte Carlo when she meets handsome and wealthy widower Maxim de Winter, whose beautiful wife Rebecca has recently died in a tragic accident at sea. The two fall in love and when Maxim asked her hand, she accepts without hesitation. Yet his happiness is soon diluted. The couple moved to Monderley mansion, home of the Winter, where the new Mrs. de Winter discovers that Rebecca has left a strong impression on everyone in the house. Jeremy Brett ...
