Income tax raids on Bollywood Celebs| Bollywood Celebrities Who Have Faced Income Tax Department Raids 1 - Priyanka Chopra: In the year 2011, amidst the rumours of her dating Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra’s Mumbai residence was raided by IT officials. It was said that assets worth 6 crores were found in the Quantico stars apartment. However no further details of the same were provided. Her apartment was apparently raided for suspicions of tax evasion. 2 - Madhuri Dixit As per reports, the IT raid carried out at Madhuri Dixit’s residence several years ago led to the officials breaking the walls of her house to reportedly discover money stashed in them. 3 - Katrina Kaif: In the year 2011, Katrina Kaif’s Mumbai apartment was raided by IT officials. As Kaif failed to provide the officials with proper details of her taxing, the actress was subjected to lot of questioning to which she denied her involvement in possession of any kind of black money. However nothing was ceased from the actress’ Mumbai apartment. 4 - Ekta Kapoor Indian television producer and director of Balaji Telefilms limited Ekta Kapoor’s house was raided by the IT officials for suspected tax evasion, just a day before the release of her mega-production Shootout at Wadala. As per reports, nearly 100 officials were on the job, who searched the Kapoor residence and also the Balaji Telefilms Studio. 5 -Sonu Sood: Actor Sonu Sood started building hype for his name in the industry after films like Dabangg, Shootout at Wadala, Jodhaa Akbar and more. During this time the actor had apparently purchased a property worth Rs. 30 crores. This was enough for the IT officials to raise an alarm of suspicion and raid the actor’s apartment. 6 - Sanjay Dutt: Much like Salman Khan, actor Sanjay Dutt has also been in and out of controversies. Sanjay Dutt’s residence was raided when the IT department was tipped off about the actor’s crores worth of custom watches. 7 - Rani Mukerji: In the early 2000s, Rani Mukerji was at the peak of her career. Commercially successful films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Badal etc were all in her kitty. Income Tax officers raided Rani Mukerji’s apartment for unaccounted black money and it is said that an amount of Rs. 12 lakhs was ceased from the operation. 8 - Salman Khan: Bollywood’s Dabangg Khan has always been surrounded with controversies. The actor was subject to IT raids in the year 2000 where his Mumbai as well as Panvel property were raided by government. After the success of Dabangg, his brother Arbaaz Khan was also interrogated by the IT officials.
