@Railfanning NS Charlotte and Greenville Districts 09-25-2021: Greer Railfest Action Plus Many More
Greer railfest occured September 27th, 2021. The city had many rail festivities in the city but the main attraction is the tracks, as an ultimate railfan meetup occurred (Including a longtime friend of mine which we finally met in person). No CSX showed up though 3 NS trains showed up. As bonuses, I stopped by Spartanburg a bit before I went to Greer and got 2 trains and on the way back, I stopped by Clemson ang got 237 again plus 2 more trains. It was an interesting day to be out trackside. NS CHARLOTTE DISTRICT Spartanburg, SC 0:30 (to skip intro) NS 265 goes by with an NS Tier 4 leading a BNSF GEVO with a friendly engineer on board. That 265 would eventually stop south from there to meet NS 204. NS ET44AC -HH-Raised Letter K5HL Horn BNSF ES44C4 -H3 7:44 Fresh from meeting 265, NS 204 rushes through with an ES44DC leading an ACU and an ACe with friendly crew and a decent sized train. NS ES44DC -HH-Narrow Font K5HL Horn NS SD70ACU -HH NS SD70ACe -HH Greer, SC 10:17 I arrived at Greer, SC only to meet a good amount of railfans in the area. About a few hours later, a short NS 213 goes by with a trio of GEs pulling a short train. NS AC44C6M -HH-Non-Raised Letter K5LA Horn NS ES44DC -HH NS ES44AC -HH 11:56 Shortly after 213, NS 237 goes though with a GE pair, a friendly engineer, and a short train. It would eventually pick up around 50 manifest cars at Greenville, SC. NS AC44C6M -HH-Raised Letter K5LA Horn NS ET44AC -HH 13:28 A short time later, NS 212 goes by with 2 NS Dash 9s and an ACe with an awesome K5LA and another friendly engineer. NS CW44-9 -Old NS-Raised Letter K5LA Horn NS CW44-9 -Old NS NS SD70ACe -HH NS GREENVILLE DISTRICT Clemson, SC 16:24 NS 237 again and it goes by Clemson with the same GE pair and this time, with the manifest cars it picked up at Greenville. Interesting enough, it has another friendly crew on board. 17:49 A good bit later, NS 154 goes by with 4 engines, all up front, pulling 101 cars. NS ES44DC -HH-Non-Raised Letter K5HL Horn NS CW44-9 -OId NS NS SD40-2 -HH NS ES44DC -HH 20:53 I happened to be joined by 3 more railfan when the last train of the day went by, which turns out to be NS 264 with 2 BNSF GEVOs and an awesome engineer.
