"West Side Story" is back! It's been 60 years and spoiler alert, I LOVED it! I'll admit, I was super worried when I first heard Spielberg was doing one of my all time favorite films, but he was able to make it his own and elevate the overall feature. I loved the direction and performances, particularly Rachel Zegler (Maria), Ariana DeBose (Anita) and Mike Faist (Riff). I think all three have great shots at Oscar nominations along with Rita Moreno. The film was able to be more realistic and have strong motivations for the characters, you really understood where they were coming from. It was beautifully shot and looked incredible. One of my favorite films of the year and I hope it wins a bunch of Oscars.
