"The Power of the Dog" directed by Jane Campion starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Jessie Plemons and Kirsten Dunst tells the story of two rancher brothers living in 1920s Montana whose lives are disrupted when a woman and her child enter their lives. The film is beautiful with a wonderful music score (Radiohead's Johnny Greenwood) and great performances by all the actors. However, the story is minimal and Campion relies more on the beauty of the Montana range than the narrative. I enjoyed the film but left underwhelmed and doubtful anyone will walk away come Oscar night.
