Mike Flanagan, Creator/Director of "Haunting of Hill House", "Haunting of Bly Manor", "Dr. Sleep" is back at it with "Midnight Mass". This 7 part miniseries tells the story of an isolated island community who begin experiencing miraculous miracles and omens when a new preacher comes into town. This is a slow burn, the first 4 episodes are the set up and the last 3 the action and pace begins to pick up. Monologues and preaching are littered throughout the series and that's usually when my attention span began ending. Overall, I enjoyed watching something that felt new with some interesting themes about Christianity. If you can get past the first 3 episodes, trudge through to the end! Streaming now on Netflix.
