NFL wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins sits down with Credit Talk host Victor Cruz to discuss his financial journey and offer advice to listeners on building wealth. DeAndre is best known in the NFL as the youngest player to reach 700 catches and the third youngest to reach 8000 receiving yards. DeAndre grew up in rural South Carolina where his family raised and sold crops, and his mother worked two jobs to support the family. “I first heard about generational wealth through my mom,” he tells Victor. “She raised four kids; she worked two jobs. And as I got older, she kind of explained to me the reason that she's working so much and why she's doing it is for us. It's for her kids not to have to worry about the things that she had to worry about.” DeAndre took that example with him when he went to Clemson University.
