@Sneaky Treats -How to make them and my flock enjoying them
To answer some questions: -Why call them sneaky treats? Because we are technically making bird safe pancakes with vegetables blended/topped on them. This allows your bird into be fooled into eating vegetables they my not often like. -Yep I have fuchsia colored hair 😂. It was a colored conditioner that was supposed to be a pale/soft pink but it washes out in a few washes so it will lighten and come out. Recipe/Ingredients •2 eggs •1/2 cup whole wheat flour or pulverized parrot pellets •1/3 cup vegetable puree or 1 ripe banana •Any ingredients you want to hide •Coconut oil for frying Mix all the first three ingredients together or add the fourth in. The fourth can also be topped on pancake itself before flipping. *If you feel like the mix is to thick add a tablespoon of water at a time until you reach desired consistency Heat bird safe skillet and add a bit of coconut oil to prevent pancakes from sticking. Make small silver dollar pancakes so its easier for your bird to hold. Let them cool before serving. What I used was 10 grain flour but any bird safe flour will do. Just avoid white/self rising flour. I also used pumpkin puree but sweet potato puree would be a nice alternative as well. I added about an 1/8 cup of Roudybush crumbles but this is not needed unless you are replacing flour or just because you want to add it. The vegetables I used in/on the mix was raw carrot pieces, kale pieces (fine chopped), corn, sweet mini red peppers (capsicum). Additionally I added beach nut brand baby food about 2 tablespoons (apple/ zucchini/pumpkin), pieces of gala apple, millet and almond slices. These can be frozen (3 weeks) or refrigerated (3 days) in a freezer safe ziplock bag or container. You want to avoid freezer burn and leafy greens might not warm up well if these are frozen then reheated to a warm or room temperature. You can certainly cut this recipe in half to make less.
