Retro Toyota ad for the all-new 1989 Hilux pickup (ute). The Hilux in Australia was available with 4 different engine options: 1.8L or 2.4L petrol engines (carbureted), or 2.4L or 2.8L diesel (naturally aspirated). Unlike the North American "Truck" (which visually was almost identical), equipment levels were very sparse - fuel injection, V6 engines, and airbags were not available at all. These features did not arrive until the next generation model in 1997. Few changes were made during the model's 9 year lifespan - the grille was updated with a Toyota logo in 1992. Features voiceover by John Laws.
