Today we are exploring The Badlands National Park, and if you are wondering what are the best hikes, and best viewpoints, I hope this video can help! Badlands National Park is South Dakota's second national park, and it is so unique! It is about an hour away from Rapid City, and a short 10 minutes away from Wall, which you should also make a stop at the famous Wall Drug, Badlands is a mixture of soft sedimentary, clay like formations. The name Badlands comes from the Lakota people, a nomatic people, their original name is Mako Sica, which roughly translates to land bad, or bad land to travel through, because of the brutal climate and the crazy formations. This was my first time visiting, and I reccomend making a stop if you're planning a trip to South Dakota.
