AMRITSAR (PUNJAB) TO KOCHUVELI (KERALA) : FULL TRAIN JOURNEY : 12484 AMRITSAR - KOCHUVELI SUPERFAST EXPRESS : TKD WAP-7 LOCOMOTIVE : MONSOON KONKAN RAILWAYS : INDIAN RAILWAYS. 12484/Amritsar - Kochuveli Weekly SF Express अमृतसर - कोच्चुवेली साप्ताहिक सुपरफास्ट एक्सप्रेस ASR/Amritsar Junction -- KCVL/Kochuveli Kochuveli - Amritsar Weekly Express is a Express train of the Indian Railways connecting Kochuveli in Kerala and Amritsar Junction of Punjab. It is currently being operated with 12483/12483 train numbers on a weekly basis. It is running with an LHB rake W.E.F. 9 June 2019. It is the only train that connects Kerala with Amritsar. From 11, July 2021 it runs with new time. As per the new timetable 12483 departs Kochuveli at 09.15 hrs on every Wednesdays and reaches Amritsar at 13.50 hrs on every Fridays. In the return direction 12484 departs Amritsar at 05.55 hrs on every Sundays and reaches Kochuveli at 12.25 hrs on every Tuesdays. During monsoon periods over Konkan route the travelling time will be changed. The 12483/Kochuveli - Amritsar Weekly SF Express has an average speed of 58 km/h and covers 3597 km in 52 hrs 35 mins. 12484/Amritsar - Kochuveli Weekly SF Express has an average speed of 62 km/h and covers 3597 km in 54 hrs 30 mins. From 11 July 2021 it runs with new timings. Accordingly, 12483 Kochuveli - Amritsar Superfast Express departs Kochuveli on every Wednesday at 09.15 hrs and reaches Amritsar at 13:50 hrs on every Fridays. During monsoon periods it departs Kochuveli at 04.50 hrs on every Wednesdays and reaches Amritsar every Fridays at 13.50 hrs. In return direction 12484 Amritsar - Kochuveli departs Amritsar at 05:55 hrs on every Sunday and reaches Kochuveli at 12:25 hrs on every Tuesdays. During monsoon periods (Over Konkan Railway) it departs Amritsar at 05.55 on every Sundays and reaches Kochuveli at 14.30 hrs on every Tuesdays. The train has a modern LHB rake with an MPS of 130 km/h. The train consists of 22 coaches : 1 AC | Tier 2 AC II Tier 6 AC III Tier 7 Sleeper Class 3 General Unreserved 2 End On Generator Cars (EOG) Amritsar Central railway station (station code: ASR) is a railway located in Amritsar district in the Indian state of Punjab and serves Amritsar. It is the largest and busiest railway station of Punjab. The Amritsar railway station is located at an elevation of 233 metres (764 ft) and was assigned the code "ASR." With this, it has become the busiest railway station of the state in terms of passenger movement and train traffic. In the 2016 railway budget, the government has aimed to beautify the railway station as it is the main station of the holy city. The railway station is the first and only with WiFi in the division and CCTV has recently been enabled. In the recent railway budget, it has been mentioned that Amritsar Junction will be improved due to its importance in various fields. The Movement Control Office (MCO) for Armed Forces is also available at PF no 1. There are ten platforms under use, 1(A), 1(B), 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. Platform no. 8 is used for freight trains. Platform no. 1(B) is reserved exclusively for freight and passenger trains of Indian Army. Kochuveli railway station (station code: KCVL), formerly known as Thiruvananthapuram North railway station is a satellite passenger railway terminus of Thiruvananthapuram city in the Indian state of Kerala. It is being developed to ease congestion at Thiruvananthapuram Central. Some trains presently operating from Thiruvananthapuram Central, including the Sabari Express, will commence the journey from Kochuveli railway station once the station is completely developed. Kochuveli railway station also caters to special trains during busy seasons. The trains connect this station to cities like Amritsar, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Secunderabad, Hubli, Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Mysuru, Madgaon, Bhavnagar, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Indore, Surat, Nilambur, Jodhpur, Sri Ganganagar and Nagercoil. The station is situated 1.2 km from the NH 66 Trivandrum–Kanyakumari bypass road and 8 km from Central bus station Thiruvananthapuram. Kerala State Road Transport Corporation operates a low-floor AC feeder bus from Kochuveli terminal to Trivandrum city for the benefit of long-distance passengers. The buses are operated from the station at timings based on train arrivals. The nearest bus stop on the NH 66 Kazhakoottam–Kovalam bypass road is World Market Junction from where commuters can use the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation buses towards various places in Trivandrum city and Kazhakoottam.
