This is the first phase of the induction of 50 such buses. Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai flagged off the premium buses from Vidhana Soudha. The buses will be operated on six intercity routes from Bengaluru to Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, and Panjim. The other two routes are from Mangaluru to Kundapur and Pune. “The 15-metre buses have 40 berths with best-in-class head room for superior comfort for passengers, both in sleeping and sitting positions,” KSRTC said in a statement. “The vehicle is built on a strong Scandinavian design tradition of safety, environmental concern, and quality. Every single line and surface is part of an aerodynamic masterpiece, designed to reduce air drag at high-speed operations, complemented by value-added technology such as cruise control and I-shift which leads to high fuel savings,” KSRTC stated. “It also offers a unique visibility for passengers through newly designed panoramic windows. The vehicle’s inner gradient floor gives every passenger excellent visibility and spacious berths in the sleeper coach, ensures a comfortable travel experience...
