One study tracked 12,000 people for 32 years and found that "a person's chance of becoming obese increased by 57% if he or she had a friend who became obese." Another study found the opposite as well, if you had a really fit friend, then 1/3 of the time, you would lose weight also. I’m sure you've heard the saying that you are the sum of the 5 closest people to you.
