This song was originally titled "The Ballad of Noah." I started it by writing a love song from Noah to his wife after they had just endured a flood. As I was writing I realized it was more than just the story of Noah; It was a song that anyone in a successful relationship can relate to. The final line of the chorus "Sometimes it feels like we're not meant to be, But here we are" appropriately sums up the theme of the song.
