Christina Marie's video: NEW Peloton Bike and Price Drop on Current Model 350 Credit or 700 Trade-In Value Options

The time is finally here - Peloton has released a NEW bike effective Wednesday, September 9, 2020. If you’re anything like me, you’ve been hearing rumors about the release of a more affordable Tread in their lineup, but I hadn’t heard anything about a new bike! Turns out this bike is only $250 more than their initial $2,245 bike price tag BUT this one has upgraded and improved features! For example, there’s a larger screen, enhanced speakers, an auto follow digital resistance system, and something a bunch of Peloton customers have been asking for for awhile - a tilted or swivel screen. This brings up the questions… What about their existing model? Are they discontinuing it? Are they phasing it out from their lineup? None of the above in fact! That bike celebrates a $350 price cut from its original price - making it now $1,845. This puts Peloton in a sub $2,000 bike category potentially making it more “mainstream” or affordable to the masses. That seems to be their goal at least. Like myself, you may be having a bunch of questions: - What does this mean for existing Peloton bike owners now that their trusty bike is now worth less (devalued in a way) - What if you just ordered one of their bikes and paid their full original price of $2,245? Does Peloton price adjust? - What if you want to upgrade? Does Peloton offer trade ins? - Is the new bike (now $600 more than the original bike) worth it? Product offerings: 1. Bike+ at $2,495, or $250 more than their current model 2. Current bike model drops to $1,895, making that a $350 price reduction 3. Tread+ (existing model) $4,295 4. (to be released) NEW Tread, $2,495. This is their “lower” priced model, coming early 2021 in the US/ Canada, Uk starting Dec. 26 2020, and Germany later in 2021 Bike+ Features - Larger screen at 23.8” (compared to previous 22.5”) - Enhanced speakers - 4 speaker sound system - One tap integration with apple GymKit so you can sync and display your metrics such as heart rate on the screen - Auto follow digital resistance system - Feature that automatically changes resistance depending on the class - Screen can be tilted NEW Tread Features - 23.8” HD touchscreen with integrated speakers. - Screen tilts up and down 50 degrees - Measures smaller than most couches at 68” L x 33” W x 62” H (in a nutshell, it’s 4 inches shorter and 3.5 inches less wide than its existing model). - It has no front shroud - typically found in traditional belt treadmills, which makes it feel more like natural road. In lieu of this new Bike+ release, Peloton is offering two options for new or current customers: 1. The first is a price adjustment. What about those who just ordered the existing bike and paid existing $2,245 retail price? Peloton is offering a $350 credit (plus tax) for those who have purchased their bike and are still with the 30 day home trial window OR are awaiting delivery of their bike. You will receive the refund within 7-10 business days, 2. Trade In Offer Existing members can trade in their working bikes for $700 credit to use on Bike+ (Basically you can pay $1,795 to trade in your existing bike for the new bike. While that sounds like a fair deal, if you think about it, if you spend $100 more you can get ANOTHER base model bike. So basically you could get two bikes just by spending $100 more and NOT doing the trade-in offer. Of course this begs to differ that why would you need two bikes, but still, personally for me I’m not sure how great that trade in offer is).
