Away from the actual cricketing action on the ground, there is one man who will be in the dressing room pondering his future. Having served Indian cricket durably as a remarkable strike bowler with his unorthodox leg spin and then becoming an astute captain. Appointed as coach of the Indian team by the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) last year.It’s in his tenure that India posted outstanding results in Tests and the shorter formats in the last few months. Board had invited applications for the post of a coach as Kumble’s one-year tenure ends with the Champions Trophy. Virender Sehwag, Dodda Ganesh, Tom Moody, Lalchand Rajput and Richard Pybus have applied for the post while Kumble has got a direct entry. Since 1999 the Indian team has been coached by so many Indian as well as foreign coaches so this time also it will be very interesting to watch who will be the next Indian coach.
