Citizens For Justice's video: Activist Flexes His Rights on Greenville County Sheriffs South Carolina

Thomas Roy is a police accountability activist in Greenville, South Carolina. He regularly films police as part of his activism. Roy was filming law enforcement activity on January 29, 2020 from a gas station parking lot when multiple members of the Greenville County Sheriff’s Department approached him and asked for ID. Roy believed he was targeted for filming and chose to flex his rights. Roy previously made headlines after he wore a "Police Lie" shirt to a South Carolina courthouse. The shirt resulted in a judge threatening to hold him in contempt of court unless he left the courthouse and changed shirts.
