City Lights Theater Company's video: Behind the Music with George Psarras on The Next Stage

On stage, George Psarras has inspired us with powerful performances in "The Merchant of Venice," "The Elephant Man," "Amadeus," and many other City Lights productions. But you may not know that when any show here moves you, George’s work is part of that. Besides being a professional actor who made his feature-film debut in Disney Pixar’s "Onward" this year, George is also our resident sound designer and composer. He creates the audio world that surrounds you in our intimate theater, from his haunting, original cello music for "Eurydice" to the Victorian streetscape of "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" (in which he also played Jekyll). In this Zoom program on July 3, 2020, George shared stories behind his sound design and music for "The Language Archive" (2014), "Build" (2015) and "Eurydice" (2019).
