City Lights Theater Company's video: Cellista s Transfigurations : a virtual adaptation

She’s an acclaimed cellist and true visionary who blends genres and media: hip hop and opera, classical and pop, the avant-garde and the accessible. On June 26, 2020, Cellista brought her political performance-art piece "Transfigurations" to The Next Stage. Combining film, dance, music and real narratives from the artistic community, the work critiques and comments on the fate of creatives in a rapidly gentrifying world. It’s accompanied by a full-length book written by Cellista and the philosopher Dr. Frank Seeburger. This virtual adaptation features its accompanying film by Jennifer Gigantino, with special performances from: Operafication, soprano; Demone Carter (DEM ONE), hip hop orator; Brietta Greger, percussionist; and Janesta, modern dancer.
