1951 Ford Victoria The overall body style for the Ford shoebox continued into 1951 but did receive multiple design changes including the introduction of the dual bullet grill. This year also included the return of the historic name of "Victoria" which had previously been used in the 30's. The name was applied to the 2 door hardtop and was the first time it has been used since 1934. They were the top trim level and meant to compete with the introduction of Chevrolets new Bel Air. It proved to be a marketplace success as it outsold the Bel Air by 10%. This Ford Victoria is a very nice example of a survivor car despite a few things being changed up on it. It was originally Baby Blue and White but had been repainted in Red at some point in the past. Recently Black accents were added to the roof and in cove style section down the sides. All of the chrome and stainless trim has a nice shine and Crestline trim has been added as well. A lot of original nostalgic features are still in place like the windshield visor and skirts which look great. It has Red painted wheels with nice Ford hubcaps and thin white wall tires. Under the hood is its original Flathead V8 that runs well. It has been kept very stock with a 2 barrel carb, oil bath air cleaner, 8BA heads, a generator and 6 volt system. It is paired with a 3 speed manual transmission with overdrive that shifts smoothly. The suspension and brakes are all the stock set up and all functioning properly. Inside the car has its original bench seats but has had new Gray covers in a combo of cloth and vinyl. The door panels and headliner are all original to the car. The dash is painted Gray and has all of its stock components and gauges. The trunk has Black carpeting and houses a spare with Firestone tire.
