ClassicalGasMotors's video: 1948 Ford F1 Pickup Truck

@1948 Ford F1 Pickup Truck
1948 Ford F1 Pickup 1948 brought with it the birth of an icon for the Ford Motor Company. This marked the year the F series of pickups was released which are among the worlds highest selling vehicles even today. This was also the year that cars and trucks diverged. Previously trucks and cars used there own chassis and typically shared a similar look. However, in 1948 this changed with trucks now receiving their own specifically designed chassis and body. Ford also entered into the medium and heavy duty truck market and had a model line for panel vans. The first generation of the F series was known as the Ford Bonus-Built trucks. They were the first redesign after WWII and the goal was to provide a vehicle with the same utility function while also providing a more comfortable roomy cab. It was obviously well received by the public as the F-series has remained extremely popular throughout the years. This F1 is a beautiful and very well built pickup. It was restored by a gentleman that knows these trucks in and out. He has restored many over his life and remarked that this was one of the nicest he has done. Don't let the Hot Rod Flat Black paint fool you because this fully body off restored pickup is in excellent condition throughout. The body is entirely rust free and solid. It has a nice chrome grill and wears all of its original chrome bumpers and stainless trim. They have a beautiful finish with zero pitting or issues. Swan neck mirrors have been added on both sides as well as a 3rd brake light for added safety. The glass is all in good condition and has a slight tint. The bed was all redone with a dark stained cabinet quality oak with very clean stainless strips. The tailgate has the "Ford" script lettering painted in White and also utilizes custom cables. The American Racing Torq Thrust wheels are brand new as are the brand new tires. Staying true to the manufacturer the truck is all Ford powered. Under the hood sits a 302 c.i. V8 motor that has been entirely rebuilt. It has all new internals and is fitted with an electronic ignition system, smooth idle cam, vintage Ford valve covers, Weiand intake and Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor. It runs out well and is set up to be a very comfortable driver. On the highway it tachs around 2,000 rpm at 75 mph. Paired with the motor is a automatic with overdrive transmission which sends power back to the 9 inch Ford rear with around 3:50 gears. The power brakes and power steering are a very nice additions giving the truck some modern comforts. It runs cool with an aluminum radiator and so will you thanks to the Old Air AC system. The suspension system has been entirely rebuilt and other nice additions include the electric wipers. The interior has been completely redone in the original style. It wears Brown leather on its bench seat with lap belts and up on the headliner. To avoid cutting up the original dash a lower drop section was mad to house the adjustable AC vents, AC controls, added Voltmeter, and the AM/FM/CD/Aux stereo. The only modification to the original dash section was the addition of a tachometer. The original gauges have all been refurbished and look like new. The nicely polished Ididit tilt column looks great and is fitted with a Leccara retro steering wheel. This pickup has a great look and has been very well put together. It is freshly built with only 656 miles since completion and is ready to hit the road for many years to come. If you want a vintage truck that was set up to hop in and go anywhere this is one to take a serious look at.
