ClassicalGasMotors's video: 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe

@1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe
1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe The Deluxe name was introduced by Ford in 1937 to bridge the gap between the Standard model and the more upscale Lincoln. While the Deluxe was also used earlier in the 30's it strictly designated a higher trim level versus its own line. They were first marketed as entry level luxury vehicles and after the short run from 1937 to 1940 "Deluxe" reverted back to being the higher trim level. 3 years is not a long time but the overall appearance changed quite a bit. Cleverly, Ford would market each new year with the Standard models receiving some design updates from the Deluxe of the previous year. This allowed them to continue to offer two tier levels while keeping them both fresh simultaneously. By 1940 they put out what many would argue to be the best looking Vintage Ford front ends out there. It has rounded fenders, a very unique 3 piece horizontal bar grill and very cool tear drop style headlights. This clean 1940 is the more desirable coupe body style and was professionally restored out of Atlanta, Georgia. It is all original steel and all rust free. The gloss Black paint has a beautiful finish and is the perfect pairing with all of the original style chrome and stainless trim which has an excellent shine. The tinted glass is in good shape throughout and the front windshield has been changed out to a 1 piece. It doesn't get taken out in the rain but should you not have a choice it does have dual electric wipers that work properly. The weather stripping is also good throughout with no issues. The electrical is all functioning correctly and in back it has the stock stacked "Chevron" taillights with old school Blue dots. To create a slicker look the fender mounted gas filler has been modified to eliminate the bulky cap in exchange for a flush mounted fuel door. The Edelbrock wheels are very unique as they aren't ones you see on every street rod out there and they are wrapped in Hankook Optimo tires. Open up the pointed V-shaped hood and you will find the car has been upgraded with the drivetrain out of a Camaro. The motor is a 350 ci V8 that in addition to running very well is very worthy of being shown off as it is dressed up with a billet air cleaner, matching valve covers, matching wire looms, a chrome alternator, a chrome AC compressor, Cool Flex hoses, Holly 750 cfm carburetor, and custom billet brackets. It runs nice and cool with the aftermarket electric fans and Brass Walker radiator which adds a pretty cool vintage touch to the engine compartment. The Turbo 350 Automatic transmission shifts smoothly and sends power back to the 10 bolt positrac rear end. In addition to the basic drive train components the car also received a Camaro front clip with disc brakes, all new springs/shocks, a new master cylinder, and power rack & pinion steering. It really has been set up to be a great driver and the car sounds great too with dual exhaust into Flowmaster mufflers. The interior has been entirely redone in a two tone Black and White leather which looks great. It has dual power adjustable bucket seats with "Fantastic 40" custom embroidered onto the seat backs. The custom two tone door panels match nicely and feature all chrome hardware and custom arm rests. A custom center console was made to provide space for cup holders, additional storage, and is where you will find the Sony AM/FM/Bluetooth stereo system. The custom dash is all nicely painted and is fitted with Auto Meter gauges with Brass bezels, LED signal indicators, adjustable vents and the Vintage Air AC/Heat controls. In front of the driver is a tilt column topped off with a 2 spoke Ford steering wheel. The trunk is all nicely upholstered and has a hidden storage compartment in the floor. You will also note the level of detail in simple features like a trunk courtesy light mounted to the underside of the deck lid. This is a very nicely built car that needs nothing. Everything works so you can hop in it and head out to your first show right away. It has a beautiful exterior that has been nicely complimented with modern upgrades. It comes with a good clear Texas title and a car cover.
