ClassicalGasMotors's video: 1950 Ford Business Coupe

@1950 Ford Business Coupe
1950 Ford Coupe The "Shoebox" Ford was the first major redesign for the company following WWII. They were named for their overall shape which was more boxy with tight incorporated fenders and no running boards. This was a pretty significant departure from the previous design which had been in production since the early 40s. This very clean 1950 Business Coupe has a great look and incorporates some neat customizations that really make it stand out from others. The body is very straight and painted in a two tone pale Yellow with Black coves and roofline. The paint is fresh and in great condition. It has been nosed and decked creating a very slick appearance. The grill has been modified using a combination of a 1954 Oldsmobile center section and other components like the parking lights and surrounding area from a Canadian Meteor. All of the trim has been straightened out and highly polished before being cleanly mounted in place. It came off a Crestline and is a nice custom touch. The bumpers are all rechromed and have a beautiful finish. The side and rear glass has all been replaced and is tinted. All of the rubber/weatherstripping has been replaced as well. The car rides on 15 inch American Racing wheels wrapped with 205/70R15 Douglas All Season tires. Sticking with a vintage traditional theme under the hood is a completely rebuilt 296 Flathead V8. It has been upgraded with a slight cam, Scat crank with 4 inch stroke, Ross pistons, Edelbrock heads, Offenhauser intake, new 3 deuce carburetors and a MSD ignition. It is a 12 volt system with a Red top Optima battery. A new aluminum radiator has been installed and with the mechanical fan keep the car running cool. The car has a great sound through the dual exhaust with glass packs and chrome tips. The transmission is an Automatic with overdrive and the rear end is stock. The front suspension is all new throughout with drop spindles, springs, and a 3 inch lowering kit from Shoebox Central. The front brakes have also been converted to discs. The leather interior is all new and a two tone Black and Yellow to match the exterior. It has a split bench seat with tuck and roll insert. The door panels have a unique design that matches the coves and paint scheme on the exterior. Being a business coupe it has no rear seat and instead is a very nicely finished out rear storage area with stainless strips. The dash is cleanly painted and has been looking mostly stock. It does have a new Autosound radio with polished controls that has a vintage look. It is a more modern system but has the original look and delivers a great sound. The steering wheel has a neat look and is also 2 tone with a chrome horn ring. The trunk provides plenty of storage and is all upholstered as well. This cool shoebox has a great look and runs out well. The customizations are tastefully done and almost look stock until you park it next to another one.
