Comedy Matters TV's video: The Newz Straight From 1982

This past summer, in July of 2020 a documentary about all around comedy guy Jeffrey Gurian premiered online due to the Covid pandemic. In searching through his memorabilia many old videos were found. This was a pilot made In 1982 by Jeffrey Gurian with his take on "The Newz". If Monty Python did the news this would be it. Woody Allen's legendary manager, the late Jack Rollins, who was also managing Robin Williams and Billy Crystal called Herb Sargent long time head writer up at SNL and asked him to meet with Jeffrey on the basis of this pilot. Herb's words were, " I don't even have to watch this film. If Jack Rollins says you're funny, you're funny!" He watched it anyway! See what YOU think!
