CompVid101's video: Tim Dismang: Dreamers On The Rise

@Tim Dismang: Dreamers On The Rise
Southern California folk and roots performer Tim Dismang sings one of the most beloved compositions by the late singer-songwriter John Stewart (1939-2008), a song that Stewart wrote in the mid-1980s reflecting back on his involvement as the unofficial troubadour for Robert F. Kennedy's 1968 presidential campaign, which ended in horror with Kennedy's assassination in Los Angeles on June 6th of that year. The lyrics are in the voice of a middle-aged man remembering the fire of his youthful idealism and cherishing both that time of his life and the friendships that grew out of it. Tim Dismang is an accomplished performer in his own right, having released nearly a dozen CDs of his own, consisting of largely original material though as here with songs by Stewart and other writers included as well. Playing bass is Dave Batti, Stewart's primary bassist for the last 25 years of his career. The video was shot from the audience during the fourth incarnation of Stewart's "Trio Fantasy Camp" in August 2003. Stewart was in the audience for this performance and can be seen congratulating Tim in the last few seconds of the video.
