(Bucorvus abyssinicus) 2:00 Juvenile fish eagles (Haliaeetus vocifer) 2:13 cattle egret (Bubulcus ibis) 2:35 purple heron (Ardea purpurea) 2:42 yellow-billed stork (Mycteria ibis) 3:05 fish eagles (Haliaeetus vocifer) 3:16 bee-eater (Merops pusillus) 3:42 pied kingfisher (Ceryle rudis) 3:50 grey-headed kingfisher (Halcyon leucocephala) 3:57 malachite kingfisher (Corythornis cristatus) 4:02 pied kingfisher (Ceryle rudis) in flight 4:13 crocodile (Crocodylus niloticus) 5:56 unstriped ground squirrel (Xerus rutilus) 6:35 banded mongoose (Mungos mungo) 6:49 waterbuck (Kobus ellipsiprymnus) 7:17 oribi (Ourebia ourebi) 7:47 Ugandan kob (Kobus kob thomasi) 9:26 Swayne's hartebeest (Alcelaphus buselaphus) 10:09 common warthog (Phacochoerus africanus) 11:09 water buffalo (Syncerus caffer) 11:53 mantled guereza or eastern black-and-white colobus (Colobus guereza) 13:27 vervet monkey (Chlorocebus pygerythrus) 14:05 baboon (Papiocynocephalus anubis) 15:19 hippos (Hippopotamus amphibiu) 17:05 side-striped jackal (Canis adustus) 19:30 spotted hyena (Crocuta crocuta) 19:55 giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis ssp. Rothschildi) 22:16 elephant (Loxodonta africana) 24:40 white rhino (Ceratotherium simum) 26:15 The hyena might laugh At the thought a giraffe Could mate with a gnat, The result being that, & this really rich, is Their kids all hatched out, one and all as ostriches. Really the theory is fraught with some hitches, How the mating could happen just leaves one in stitches. **** I once told a woman whom I once dated, The hippo's a horse, just over-inflated, "To me, the hippo", she then rejoined, "is Much like a rhino, albeit quite pointless". (I stole the idea of "pointless rhino" from Patrick Winstanley **** The elephant's strange, I'd say, overall, Its legs are like pillars that form a great hall, Its sides like the daub on a huge mudded wall. Its tail's like a rope— but don't climb up you'll fall. Its trunk's like a snake, or maybe a tentacle, Spear-like, it's tusks, its ear-fans so bendable, like some magic beast conjured with spell & pentacle, But don't give her a bike she'll just make it a bentcycle. **** Only men who have wieners excessively tiny, Would think things improved taking horn of the rhiny. Try some Viagra to get up your bone, Rhinos won't do it, so leave them alone. **** Murchison Falls National Park Uganda is about 3,480 square kilometers of savannah in the northwestern area of Uganda reserved for wildlife conservation. It contains about 76 species of mammals and about 450 bird species. It is fairly easy to get to Misindi from Uganda's capitol of Uganda but you will have to hire private transport to get into the park 70 kilometers away. There are tent camping sites and all levels of accommodation up from that at lodges in the park. Since I work as a public servant I don't make a huge amount of money so I'm fairly budget conscious (translation: cheap bastard). Also because it is difficult to access U.S. dollars in the country—and these are required to pay park fees—I was forced to conserve what little cash I had (credit cards were not accepted to pay park fees). So I spent less than $500—which was about all the cash I was carrying at the time-- but well worth it. You must hire a guide, which are readily available for reasonable fees. I paid about $275 U.S. for two and a half days in two parks-- which included car rental and gasoline. Public transport to Misindi, a low-end hotel there, park fees, camping, a river cruise and food cost me another $200 or so—i.e. over the course of four days getting to and from the park (with two and a half days of touring in Murchison Falls and the nearby Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.) write me at uc779(at)freenet.victoria.ca if you have any questions.
