October 12, 1979. Everybody remembers that amazing game-winning skyhook by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and the effusive Magic Johnson celebration. But before that, Lakers were losing by one point and Clippers had the ball, so it was a difficult situation and they needed a steal to get the last shot. In a superb idea by coach Jack McKinney, he bet for a sophomore Michael Cooper who hadn't played on the entire game, to enter the game and try to steal the ball. It worked, as Cooper pressures the defender that eventually loses the ball.
