Incredible video footage has captured the moment a man battled a wild Canadian goose that wouldn't back down! The goose is seen making attempts to block the man's way along the path moving closer to him to push him away. Noticing the aggression, the man stands still and clutches a newspaper, then wields it like a sword as the goose goes in for an airborne attack. The man appears to make progress by backing the bird into a corner, but it remains undaunted--launching more attacks as his back is turned when he greets a friend, even after he has seemingly put a good distance between them. It's hard to tell who won this fight. A group of friends watching the spectacle from inside a building can be heard in the background roaring with laughing as they watched it all unfold. --- Manche Lebewesen können sich einfach nicht riechen! Irgendwie schon lustig, den beiden zuzusehen... und wie heißt es doch so schön: was sich liebt, das neckt sich!! --- The Canada Goose (Branta canadensis) is a wild goose belonging to the genus Branta, which is native to arctic and temperate regions of North America, having a black head and neck, white patches on the face, and a brownish-gray body. The black head and neck with white "chinstrap" distinguish the Canada Goose from all other goose species, with the exception of the Barnacle Goose, but the latter has a black breast, and also grey, rather than brownish, body plumage. There are seven subspecies of this bird, of varying sizes and plumage details, but all are recognizable as Canada Geese. Some of the smaller races can be hard to distinguish from the newly-separated Cackling Goose. --- Die Kanadagans (Branta canadensis) ist eine Vogelart aus der Familie der Entenvögel (Anatidae) und gilt als die weltweit am häufigsten vorkommende Gans. Ihr ursprüngliches Verbreitungsgebiet ist Nordamerika. Sie ist dort ein Charaktervogel des Tieflandes und brütet an Binnenseen der Prärie- und Ackerbaugebiete. Ihr in charakteristischer V-Formation erfolgender Zug in die Überwinterungsquartiere und die Rückkehr in die Brutreviere im Frühjahr sind in Nordamerika Symbole für den Wechsel der Jahreszeiten. In Europa wurde die Kanadagans zum Teil gezielt angesiedelt. Ein großer Teil der heute vor allem in Großbritannien, Irland, Skandinavien und den Niederlanden existierenden Populationen sind auch auf Gefangenschaftsflüchtlinge zurückzuführen. Seit den 1970er Jahren ist sie auch in Deutschland als Brutvogel vertreten. Die Kanadagans wird etwas größer als die Graugans und ist damit die größte Gänseart, die in Europa in freier Wildbahn zu beobachten ist.
