Country Family Homestead's video: Woodshop Lumber Storage Loft without Posts - Supported from Ceiling and Walls

There was plenty of otherwise unusable space above my overhead door in the woodshop so I decided to add a lumber storage loft that is attached to two walls with the opposite corner supported by the trusses overhead. This leaves the area below free of any support posts. This wood storage rack could also be used for general storage in a garage. Just add a OSB or plywood deck to store totes, camping gear, bag chairs, etc. The construction lag screws I used have a shear strength of over 5000 lbs. and the space above the loft to the ceiling is about 18" so the loft will be plenty strong enough to support the lumber I plan to store up there. I don't plan on storing any green lumber or hardwoods on this rack, only pine and trim pieces to keep the load reasonable. This system that I used worked well for my situation.
