Dear Nicholas & Anthony, Today you turn 25 years old! Let me take you back in time. First of all, you are all I ever wanted! I waited years for you and on my Moms 56th Birthday, I found out that I was ` We were all so happy and of course cried our eyes out! My dream has finally came true! I was going to be A MOMMY! Then, the day before my 30th birthday, we went for an ultrasound and I will never forget Shanta telling us, Ohhh there are two babies in there! Two little peas in a pod!! Your Father & I started crying right then & there! TWINS!! God has made up for the long wait and is blessing us with two babies, twins!! Oh my goodness we were ecstatic, overjoyed & overwhelmed with all kinds of emotions! Our family & friends were just as happy for us! On July 25th, 1989 we found out that we were having Identical Twin Boys!! OMG we were all so happy! Your Grandfather was on cloud nine when I tell you!! He's first Grandsons, he was so PROUD! On August 15th, 1989 at 2:48 am A Miracle we named Nicholas Albert was born natural, 6 lbs 5 ozs and 19 inches long and at 3:35 am (48 mins later) Another Miracle was born that we named Anthony Joseph came by c-section at 6 lbs 2 ozs and 19 inches long! Nicholas means Victorious and Anthony means Priceless One! Your middles names are your Grandfathers first names! You were also born on The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (August 15) is such Holy Day. It is also the day my cousin Rhonda Marie died 8/15/75 You were such happy beautiful babies! I nursed you and loved every second of it too!! I sang & read to you every night, as did your Father! You were all that I could have ever dreamed of! On June 5th, 1991 I received the worse phone call of my life, from Dr. Michaels. It was confirmed by Nicholas biopsie, that you both had Spinal Muscular Atrophy! Our hearts was crushed! I remember them telling us that your life expectancy would be early teens! I wanted to die! Somehow, I found the strength not to let this diagnosis shatter my dreams that I have made for you! I had a plan, now, I had to make a new one! Nicholas & Anthony, you know all that you have been through in your life, all the ups & downs, bumps & bruises, spine surgeries all kinds of trails & tribulations, yet you never ever let it bring you down! You both are the strongest people I have ever met in my life! Your positive attitudes and outlook on life is exactly what has kept me going through it all! My sons, you have brought nothing but love, joy and happiness into my life since the second I knew I was pregnant with you both! You Nicholas & Anthony Are My Greatest Blessings & I Thank God Everyday For Allowing Me The Honor & Privilege Of Being Your Mother! I Know I have made plenty of mistakes in which I pray you forgive me for! Please just know, that all I have done & will continue to do is always out of Pure Love! Watching you both grow up has been the highlight of my life. I look at you both & wonder what new dreams you will dream of & achieve, what obstacles you will overcome once more and what joys you will have to come. I know there will be tears & more struggles as well, but, My Prayer Is That You Both Will Continue To Grow & Mold Into The Amazing Men You Are & Meant To Be! Nicholas & Anthony, I want to thank you so much for being the fighters that you are, for never giving up! This Birthday is such a huge mile stone I believe! It proved them wrong, you are 25 years old and living the life you love and loving the life you live! You are a true inspiration to me and to all that know you! Continue the great work that you both do for yourselves and for others! All I ever wanted, was for you both to grow up to be productive human beings in this world in which we live! You have both gone far and beyond all of my expectations that I had for you! I know there are still great & wonderful things yet to come and I cant wait to see all what the future has to hold for the both of you!
