2022 McLaren Artura The mclarenauto Artura is plug-in-hybrid supercar that's new from the ground up, and it's a big step forward for supercars as a whole. It uses a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 mated to an electric motor and a 7.4-kWh battery pack for a total of 670 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque, and McLaren says it will hit 60 mph 3 seconds flat, go from 0 to 124 mph in 8.3 seconds, and reach a top speed of 205 mph. The Artura also has an electric-only range of 19 miles, can hit 81 mph on electric power alone and get an 80% charge in 2.5 hours on a Level 2 charger. The Artura is built on McLaren's new Carbon Lightweight Architecture tub, which will underpin all future McLaren models, and it weighs just 3,303 pounds when full of fluids, about the same as a 911 Carrera. There's an advanced adaptive suspension system that scans the road ahead, a hydraulic steering setup and standard carbon-ceramic brakes. While the exterior design is typical McLaren fare (albeit extremely good looking), the interior looks especially nice. McLaren worked hard to make the Artura comfortable and easy to live with, though hard-shell bucket seats are optional. Its 8-inch touchscreen is running a redesigned infotainment system with OTA updates, the digital gauge cluster moves with the steering wheel and available tech includes adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning. The Artura will start at $225,000 when it goes on sale later this year, about $30K more than the 570S it effectively replaces. What do you think of the new McLaren Artura?
