CrazyCubingCarol's video: FTC COPPA and What This Means for YouTube

@FTC & COPPA and What This Means for YouTube
● OPEN ● Additional information: Another category that being evaluated to see if a videois considered "for kids" is interactivity. This includes: surveys/polls, clubs, prizes/premiums, homework help, contests/games, penpals, chatrooms, posting winners’ home pages, stories or art work, guestbooks, downloads or screen-savers, electronic postcards or e-cards To clarify, a video is considered "for kids" if it has AT LEAST TWO of these factors present: Subject, Presentation (language and visuals), and Interactions. This new rule is gong to affect YouTube more than most people seem to think. I do not believe that enough people are speaking about this issue. Simply mentioning it in the description box of an unrelated video is not enough; I think that every channel needs to make a video about COPPA. I don't think that the new rule is going to be beneficial whatsoever; it is simply going to hide kids' content so that there is nothing left on YouTube but inappropriate/mature adult content, that children definitely should not be viewing. The main purpose of this law being put into place is protect children, because ads are targeting them. By my understanding, the FTC believes that if children's content is eliminated, kids will not be on YouTube as much and will therefore not be able to be targeted. But, I (and most people who have talked about this issue) do not think that this is going to work. It will only hurt content creators and will ruin YouTube. Please let me know if you know of any additional information or if I made any mistakes in this video. There is a petition as well as a way for people to comment directly to the FTC. The deadline commenting the FTC is December 9.
