There was a small plain tin soldier who was given to a boy as a Christmas present. He decided to guard a dancing doll at night, staying at attention all night, because he loved her very much. The Jack-in-the-Box didn't' like them, though, so he catapulted the tin soldier out the window who - as he couldn't move - was defenceless. Two boys found him am send him away on paper boat on a journey on a gutter canal. As his boat got soaking wet, it sank, and the soldier was swallowed by a fish. That fish got caught and sold at the market to the parents' of the kid who he as given to at the beginning and placed right by the dancing doll! Still, the Jack-in-the-Box resented their love, so he threw them on the floor. The kids then put them away together into the chest.
