Raita is basically curds that have been whisked and flavored with some spices or vegetables. In this case, we have used onions and tomatoes in making tomato onion raita. This is a super quick and delicious tomato onion raita to make! When I the mood to eat raita, tomato onion raita is the quickest and easiest raita to make in 5 minutes. A dash of roasted cumin or jeera seeds powder, some green chilies and a garnish of coriander and fresh mint leaves go a long way in making this onion tomato raita totally irresistible. Onion tomato raita is one of the easiest raita made using onion, tomato, green chili, and mint. You don’t need any special ingredient for this raita as the main ingredients like onion, tomatoes, and green chili are most of the time available in every kitchen. This raita goes well with pulao, biryani, or even with roti-sabzi or dal-rice. Ingredients 1 cup thick creamy curd (dahi or yogurt) 1 small sized onion, finely chopped 1 medium-sized tomato, finely chopped 1 green chili, finely chopped 4 mint leaves chopped 1 tblspn of finely chopped coriander leaves (dhania) 1 teaspoon roasted cumin powder (bhuna jeera powder) 1/2 tsp of chaat masala salt as required Method of making raita | HOW TO MAKE RAITA Rinse the onion, tomatoes, mint leaves, and green chili, coriander/cilantro Finely chop them. Whisk the curd. Add the finely chopped onion, tomato, mint leaves and green chili in the curd. Add cumin powder, chaat masala, and salt. Mix very well. Serve the onion tomato raita.
