What do You Mean by Acceleration? CSP Acceleration can be defined as the rate at which an object changes its velocity. An object can be said to be accelerating if it is changing its velocity. Acceleration is a vector quantity. Since velocity is a speed and a direction, there are only two ways for something to accelerate: change the speed or change the direction, or both can be done at the same time.
