Both teams have played some excellent cricket throughout the tournament and are now just one step away from reaching the all-important final match of the tournament. Joburg Super Kings have made a strong start to SA20 life, winning 6 of their 10 group matches to finish second after Pretoria Capitals in the points table. Faf du Plessis and Leus du Plooy have been in terrific form with the bat for JSK, but Australian recruit Matthew Wade also showed just how dangerous he can be in the previous match against MI Cape Town. Young Gerald Coetzee has emerged as the new leader of the bowling attack while Maheesh Theekshana has also found his feet in the tournament. Sunrisers Eastern Cape won four games and finished in third place. They had an excellent middle part of the group stage, but their current form is not so good. Out of the last five matches, they have managed to win just one game. Interestingly, two of the Sunrisers' defeats in their previous four matches have come against the Super Kings. Aiden Markram has led the team from the front, but other batters have been disappointed big time. Their weak link is their batting, and the batting group must step up in the all-important clash. In-form pacer Ottniel Baartman was rested for the final group stage match against the Super Kings and is expected to come back into the team in place of Brydon Carse for this semi-final.
